From food sovereignty to food serenity
The Convention of Rights in the Mediterranean proposes a new pact to cope with one of the unresolved emergencies globally.
A new policy of inclusive food, respectful of the environment, of the health of human beings, animals, earth, water and air, sufficient and accessible to all and all.
Our reference is Food Sovereigty, starting from the 2007 Nyéléni declaration.

"Food sovereignty is the right of peoples to nutrient and culturally adequate, accessible, produced in sustainable and ecological form, and also the right to be able to decide its food and productive system. [...] Food sovereignty promotes a transparent trade that can guarantee a dignified income for all peoples and the right for consumers to control their diet and nutrition. Our territories, of our water, of our seeds, our cattle and biodiversity, are in the hands of those who produce food.
[From the declaration of Nyéléni]

A holistic vision
It is necessary to recognize a new role to agricultural operators, peasants, coops.
The fight against climate change, the care of the territory to produce food serenity and serenity tout court become strategic actions.
This approach can be usefully integrated with other priorities, which compend in a holistic vision the set of those modalities of production and management that refer to a healthy, nourishing, sufficient and sustainable agriculture.
Food Sovereriaty that combining with food health, food safety, food sustainability, form the four that we can summarize with a 5th concept: food serenity.
For future generations
We wanted to put the person at the center, wherever he lives and in any economic condition he finds himself.
Each living being has the right to have a healthy food available, in sufficient quantities, produced on the basis of autonomously taken decisions that guarantee reproducibility and social and economic environmental sustainability.
Food serenity integrates Food Sovereriaty with further concepts, such as equity in the system and a production that does not exhaust resources and does not damage the environment, that is, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet one's needs.
Agricultural policies must reconcile the interests of those who produce, distribute and consume food.

The project
In many areas, cultivations of the same agricultural products, typical of climate and common traditions are overlapping. Competition between products made exclusively on the containment of prices has produced tensions, impoverishment and fall of quality. The objective of the project is to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural world of the different sides of the Mediterranean and be able to present themselves on international markets with high quality products, grown by strictly respecting protocols, which are remuneration for workers, workers and companies of the agricultural chain, which multiply the opportunities for jobs and exchanges
The progressive stages
To start a path of cooperation, which leads among other things to the creation of a brand of recognized and guaranteed quality: "Food serenity. Product of the Mediterranean", in line with the best practices of organic agriculture, the creation of a project divided into various stages is proposed.
