E’ sicuramente la più grande missione civile a supporto di Gaza e della sua popolazione che si sta attivando negli ultimi mesi. La Global Sumud Flotilla, composta da oltre cinquanta navi, con quindicimila partecipanti da 44 paesi, e centinaia di tonnellate di aiuti, partirà il 4 Settembre da due porti siciliani, Catania e Augusta, e la Convenzione dei Diritti nel Mediterraneo da la sua piena adesione ed il suo convinto sostegno a questa grande mobilitazione internazionale.
La Convenzione dei Diritti nel Mediterraneo è costantemente impegnata a supportare i processi di pace nel Mediterraneo, e la recente presentazione della Dichiarazione dei Giovani per la Pace all’ONU, è solo uno dei momenti nei quali è stata impegnata in questa difficile attività di sensibilizzazione alla necessità di far valere i diritti di uomini e donne che popolano i paesi del Mediterraneo.
Il blocco degli aiuti umanitari imposto da Israele va contrastato, e la Global Sumud Flotilla, con imbarcazioni in arrivo da Spagna e Tunisia può simbolicamente e materialmente provare a rompere questo blocco. Centinaia di tonnellate di aiuti con l’obiettivo di consegnare beni essenziali alla popolazione palestinese e riportare l’attenzione internazionale sulla drammatica emergenza umanitaria in corso, nel momento in cui l’offensiva israeliana sta per raggiungere il suo punto più critico con l’evacuazione forzata delle popolazioni della Striscia di Gaza. Un messaggio importante di resistenza nonviolenta.
«Sarà un’azione di resistenza nonviolenta nel pieno rispetto del diritto internazionale, un progetto nato dal basso, da donne e uomini della società civile che hanno voluto riempire un vuoto istituzionale, un vuoto di umanità», spiega Maria Elena Delia, coordinatrice italiana del Global Movement to Gaza.
La parola “Sumud”, utilizzata per il nome dell’iniziativa, in arabo significa perseveranza, resilienza e determinazione a non arrendersi anche quando le circostanze sembrano insormontabili.
La Convenzione dei Diritti nel Mediterraneo continuerà a sostenere iniziative di pace e mobilitazioni come queste, che coinvolgono operatori sanitari, associazioni e sindacati, e che puntano a sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica sulla situazione umanitaria a Gaza.

It is undoubtedly the largest civilian mission in support of Gaza and its population that has been activated in recent months. The Global Sumud Flotilla, composed of over fifty ships, with fifteen thousand participants from 44 countries, and hundreds of tons of aid, will depart on September 4th from two Sicilian ports, Catania and Augusta, and the Convention on Human Rights in the Mediterranean has given its full support and firm support to this major international mobilization.
The Convention on Human Rights in the Mediterranean is constantly committed to supporting peace processes in the Mediterranean, and the recent presentation of the Youth for Peace Declaration at the UN is just one of the moments in which it has been engaged in this challenging task of raising awareness of the need to assert the rights of the men and women who populate the Mediterranean countries.
The blockade of humanitarian aid imposed by Israel must be opposed, and the Global Sumud Flotilla, with vessels arriving from Spain and Tunisia, can symbolically and physically attempt to break this blockade. Hundreds of tons of aid are being delivered to the Palestinian population, aiming to deliver essential goods and draw international attention to the ongoing dramatic humanitarian emergency, as the Israeli offensive reaches its critical point with the forced evacuation of the Gaza Strip. This is an important message of nonviolent resistance.
"It will be an act of nonviolent resistance in full compliance with international law, a grassroots project, initiated by women and men from civil society who wanted to fill an institutional void, a void of humanity," explains Maria Elena Delia, Italian coordinator of the Global Movement to Gaza.
The word "Sumud," used in the initiative's name, in Arabic means perseverance, resilience, and the determination not to give up even when circumstances seem insurmountable.
The Convention on the Rights of the Mediterranean will continue to support peace initiatives and mobilizations like these, which involve healthcare workers, associations, and trade unions, and which aim to raise public awareness of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

إنها بلا شك أكبر مهمة مدنية لدعم غزة وسكانها، وقد تم تفعيلها في الأشهر الأخيرة. سينطلق أسطول "الصمود العالمي"، المؤلف من أكثر من خمسين سفينة، بمشاركة خمسة عشر ألف مشارك من 44 دولة، ومئات الأطنان من المساعدات، في الرابع من سبتمبر من ميناءين صقليين، كاتانيا وأوغستا. وقد أبدت اتفاقية حقوق الإنسان في البحر الأبيض المتوسط دعمها الكامل والراسخ لهذه التعبئة الدولية الكبرى.
تلتزم اتفاقية حقوق الإنسان في البحر الأبيض المتوسط باستمرار بدعم عمليات السلام في البحر الأبيض المتوسط، ويُعد تقديم إعلان "شباب من أجل السلام" مؤخرًا في الأمم المتحدة إحدى اللحظات التي انخرطت فيها في هذه المهمة الصعبة المتمثلة في رفع مستوى الوعي بضرورة تأكيد حقوق الرجال والنساء الذين يسكنون دول البحر الأبيض المتوسط.
يجب معارضة الحصار الذي تفرضه إسرائيل على المساعدات الإنسانية، ويمكن لأسطول "الصمود العالمي"، بسفنه القادمة من إسبانيا وتونس، أن يحاول كسر هذا الحصار رمزيًا وفعليًا. يتم تسليم مئات الأطنان من المساعدات إلى الشعب الفلسطيني، بهدف إيصال السلع الأساسية ولفت انتباه المجتمع الدولي إلى حالة الطوارئ الإنسانية المأساوية المستمرة، مع وصول الهجوم الإسرائيلي إلى ذروته بإخلاء قطاع غزة قسرًا. هذه رسالة مهمة للمقاومة السلمية.
"سيكون هذا عملاً من أعمال المقاومة السلمية، ملتزمًا تمامًا بالقانون الدولي، وهو مشروع شعبي، أطلقته نساء ورجال من المجتمع المدني سعوا إلى سدّ فراغ مؤسسي، فراغ إنساني"، توضح ماريا إيلينا ديليا، المنسقة الإيطالية للحركة العالمية من أجل غزة.
كلمة "صمود"، المستخدمة في اسم المبادرة، تعني في اللغة العربية المثابرة والصمود والتصميم على عدم الاستسلام حتى عندما تبدو الظروف عصية على الحل.
ستواصل اتفاقية حقوق البحر الأبيض المتوسط دعم مبادرات السلام والتعبئة المماثلة، التي تشمل العاملين في مجال الرعاية الصحية والجمعيات والنقابات العمالية، والتي تهدف إلى رفع مستوى الوعي العام بالوضع الإنساني في غزة.

Il s'agit sans aucun doute de la plus grande mission civile de soutien à Gaza et à sa population lancée ces derniers mois. La Flottille mondiale du Sumud, composée de plus de cinquante navires, avec quinze mille participants de 44 pays et des centaines de tonnes d'aide, partira le 4 septembre de deux ports siciliens, Catane et Augusta. La Convention des droits de l'homme en Méditerranée a apporté son soutien total et ferme à cette mobilisation internationale majeure.
La Convention des droits de l'homme en Méditerranée est constamment engagée à soutenir les processus de paix en Méditerranée, et la récente présentation de la Déclaration des Jeunes pour la paix à l'ONU n'est qu'un exemple parmi d'autres de son engagement dans cette tâche ambitieuse de sensibilisation à la nécessité de faire valoir les droits des hommes et des femmes qui peuplent les pays méditerranéens.
Le blocus de l'aide humanitaire imposé par Israël doit être combattu, et la Flottille mondiale du Sumud, avec des navires en provenance d'Espagne et de Tunisie, peut tenter de briser ce blocus, symboliquement et physiquement. Des centaines de tonnes d'aide sont acheminées vers la population palestinienne afin de lui fournir des biens essentiels et d'attirer l'attention internationale sur la grave urgence humanitaire actuelle, alors que l'offensive israélienne atteint son paroxysme avec l'évacuation forcée de la bande de Gaza. Il s'agit d'un message important de résistance non violente.
« Ce sera un acte de résistance non violente, pleinement conforme au droit international, un projet citoyen, initié par des femmes et des hommes de la société civile qui souhaitaient combler un vide institutionnel, un vide d'humanité », explique Maria Elena Delia, coordinatrice italienne du Mouvement mondial pour Gaza.
Le mot « Sumud », utilisé dans le nom de l'initiative, signifie en arabe persévérance, résilience et détermination à ne pas abandonner, même lorsque les circonstances semblent insurmontables.
La Convention sur les droits de la Méditerranée continuera de soutenir les initiatives de paix et les mobilisations telles que celles-ci, qui impliquent les professionnels de santé, les associations et les syndicats, et qui visent à sensibiliser le public à la situation humanitaire à Gaza.
